Fake and Shake
Unless you’ve been in a coma or living under a rock, the last couple of days, you’ve no doubt heard the latest gaffe from the Romney campaign. When one of his top campaign people was asked whether Romney had moved too far right to win the general, the answer was that Mitt is like an Etch-a-Sketch, when Tea Party Mittens starts to FLOP with the middle coming out of the prmaries, he’ll FLIP over, shake to erase and draw a more moderate Romney who can compete in the general.
It is such an apt description of complaints about flip flopping chameleon Romney from across the full political spectrum that sales and stock of Etch-a-Sketch have skyrocketed.
Personally, we don’t see him as the name brand toy, even if his company Bain Capital owns both the company that makes the toy and the big box toy store that forced them to cease production in the US and move those manufacturing jobs to China.
We see Mitt as the cheap cruddy knock-off generic sketch toy that’s probably made in the same Chinese factory as the real toy. His positions are often vague an generic and yeah, he can turn himself over, shake to erase, turn his knobs to draw a new version of himself, but just like the previous image on the knock-off toy, he can’t fully erase who he was. We can still see that last version of him.
